Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain

We ended our revival with great news a couple of young girls gave their lives to Christ. We also had several at the altar through the week praying to God. I had lost my voice and not able to talk or sing for the last several weeks and sure missed singing praises to my Lord and Savior.

I have decided this week that since I can’t sing my praises to God maybe He was teaching me to use my voice to give praise in other ways. I am doing some talking now, so watch out by next week I may be singing up a storm.

Donald was gone this week preaching at another church, so we had Jon Mitchell bring our morning message. He always does a fine job, and I do enjoy hearing him. If you have not had the prvilege of hearing Jon bring the word of God, try to make a time and a place to do so.

This week was our fall festival. We started with a hayride and then played some games with our youth. Erica Hutchinson and Deanna Porter prepared the games for us. We had a good meal and lots of visiting and fellowhsip.

The Christmas play practice is in full swing. I am really excited about our program this year. You may get to hear Roger sing a solo. I’ll try not to give too much away, but I think it will be a really good one, and I sure hope you are marking it on your calendar to attend.

We also talked a little bit about our Thanksgiving dinner which will be the third Sunday night in November. I bet your calendar is starting to look like mine, and filling up with all the events of the holidays.

We do have to make sure that we make time for the most important part of the Christmas season and that is to serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Until next time, take care, and keep serving God.
