Prayers have been answered and praise be unto God for being with Ronnie Thomas and his surgery on Wednesday, 10-19-13. We will continue to pray for you Ronnie, Sue, Bobbi, Cammie and Lyndi. May God get you back and ready to aggravate me soon so I can give it back without feeling guilty. I pray all the sick will be touched by the healing Master’s hand. I pray also for those that have had to let go of a loved one. May God the Father comfort you and bring you sweet peace. I pray for those who don’t know Jesus, that your heart will be convicted and you will accept Him as your Savior.

Sunday school began with the reading of Psalms 47. Prayer was taken. Our lesson came from Colossians, chapter 3. This chapter tells us how to behave as Christians. We are to be sincere and not just do it to please men. Our hearts and minds must be set above rather than things here below on earth. If we are spiritually dead then we are unsaved and things of this earth please us. Christ does not know us so though worldly things please us, we cannot receive intercession to God without Him as our defense and His blessings will be witheld. Family guidelines are set for spouses, children, parents and servants. We are to follow these instructions heartily and not just try to impress mortal men. If we walk and do God’s commandments in the name of Jesus our Savior, we will receive the reward of inheritance of life eternal in the presence of God the Father and God the Son – Jesus Christ. Those who do wrong and ignore the instructions that have been given, there will be punishment. It won’t matter how wealthy or how much prestige you have, you will be punished as the poor man for God is no respector of persons. The forgiveness of our sins, however, does not give us the freedom to continue to sin.

We entered worship service with congregational singing. A lot of us were challenged with cold stricken voices, but we sang praises unto God anyway. We welcome my sisters and their husbands, Judy and Mike Willis and June and John Durden. I got to sing specials with them after David Williams, Wilma Hampton and I sang. We are glad for Wes and Jennifer Leonard back with their family. There is some sickness going around and we do miss those who couldn’t be with us today.

Brother “Cub” (Joe) Lafferty took the sermon from Romans the 8th chapter verses 28-39. There isn’t anything that happens that does not serve to help us who have been redeemed and called according to the purpose of God. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ. Some of my favorite verses are the 38th and 39th verses. Death, life, angels, principalities, powers, current or past events cannot defeat Christ and it is He to which we Christinas belong and He will bring us safely through. “No height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We have a defense when we stand in judgment before God. If you have rejected His saving blood and grace, your defense will not be for Jesus won’t know who you are. Again, I repeat, eternal hell and suffering and seperation from loves ones and God will be your eternity. Please call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your heart and join us around God’s precious throne to live ever more.

This weekend we had a great time with the Breedon School Reunion. I enjoy seeing the past staff and students. Gracie Williams, Violet Lakey and Wilma Jean Kesterson were our only staff attending. We miss you Sybil Gheer and Meverine Armour and hope you can make it next year. We had a lot of laughs and trust we will do it again next year.

Let’s remember the sick and especially the unsaved that they will come to Jesus. May God comfort those who have had to let go of loved ones. Some at the reunion asked me to write in the paper about our community folks because they now live away from here. If anyone would like to have me put something in our items, please feel free to call me and I will do my best to write them in. I am at dad’s a lot of time so you can call 417-683-6408. If I am not there he will give me the message and we will get you informed. May God’s blessing be with you all this week.
