Black Oak Church

“Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun until the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised,” Psalm 113:2-3.

Brother Roy Frye opened Sunday school after we sang. He read Hebrews 11:8-16 for the devotion then dismissed us to class.

Brother Bobby Turley took up the tithes and offerings.

Zoe Shull, Quin Breeding and Macee Breeding all did the penny march for Camp Piland.

The children are learning how to be fishers of men.

Pastor David sang then preached God’s message from Matthew 7:21-23. We need to have a true relationship with God to make heaven our home. Not just on Sunday morning, but every minute of every day.

We had good testimonies and so appreciate our visitors. We pray they felt wanted and will return.

Please pray for the McSwain family, Brittany Torress and all bereaved, (Vickie and Shelly we love you), Gene Pool, Jo Stephens, Howard Strong, Wilma Sanders, Betty Satterfield family, Shirley Riley, Floyd Graham, Pete Turley and family, our church family, unsaved, unspoken, country and leaders and military.

Sunday evening began with singing. Sister Ella Faye Mitchell sang a special for us. Pastor David sang then preached from Psalm 111.We should praise the Lord for all He does for us. He keeps his promises.

Congratulations to Lois Graham on the birth of her great nephew.

We are planning a hayride and hot dog roast Sunday evening October 20 at 6:30 p.m.

We are in Ephesians in Bible study on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

May God bless you all this week and may we all be a blessing to God and each other.
