DCAR Radio Club Will Meet Saturday At Ava Lions Club

The DCAR radio club will hold their monthly meeting on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Ava Lions Club.
This meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend and learn about ham radio and emergency communications.
Pot luck starts at 11 a.m. and the meeting will follow. Participants will then be making J-pole antennae. If you would like to see how you can make an antenna, come join the group.
For more information contact President Teresa Tost at kc0okp  @yahoo.com, Vice President Paul Hillhouse or the secretary/treasurer at hillhouse_jan@yahoo.com.
Everyone is invited to come join the fun and learn more about ham radio. They will be setting up classes soon for technician, which is the first license you will need to get on the air.
If you are interested in CW (Morse Code) you are in luck because they will also be starting a class back up soon. This is not required for a license but it is used during emergencies and disasters.
Also addressed at the meeting on Saturday will be ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) requirements to help during an event or disaster.
For more information contact emergency coordinator Ron Tost at k0rgt@yahoo.com.
