“You’re My Somebody Special”

Ava Place is starting to publish a weekly “You’re My Somebody Special” spotlight. All residents of Ava place will eventually be spotlighted.  I must say it is a lot of fun interviewing the residents and learning of their early life and their wishes. Today’s spotlight is Linnie Norene Lantz.

Linnie Norene Lantz Martin was born in Isabella, Missouri. She was the only child of Bessie Lantz.  Her mother passed away when she was only two and a half years old.  At this time, she moved in her Aunt Liddy and Grandfather’s home.  She has great memories of her Aunt and Grandfather raising her.  She had a happy childhood.  When she was 17 years old, she married Vaughn Martin of Hammond, Missouri.  They were married at their preacher’s home.  Norene and Vaughn have two children that are twins.  Rick and Phyllis are the apples of their Momma’s eye.  Her favorite colors are blue and red.  When asked what her favorite food was she replied, “Anything in a bowl that is prepared and cooked.”  She does love strawberry shortcake!  Her biggest accomplishment in life has been getting married and raising the twins to be good people. “The twins were my brightest blessing in my life,” she responded.

Her ‘IF’ question was, if you had a chance to meet anyone famous living or passed who would it be?” She said,  “Well she wasn’t famous, but I would love to see my momma again.”

Norene is a joy to be around and visit with.  She enjoys having her family and friends visit with her.  Having company always brightens her day.   She likes to help fold laundry and she does a fabulous job!  We are so glad she is part of the Ava Place family.
