4-H Kids Complete Fair Grounds Project

4h symbolThe Ava 4-H Club has completed a Community Service Fair Project this week!
The kids and parents wired and put in lighting in two of the barns used for livestock showing and did repairs in a third barn.
They also did repairs to the wash rack where livestock is bathed, picked up loads of trash, pulled weeds around animal barns, hauled off old tires and junk, donated new tables to the facilities, and had a sign made for the fair entrance.
Money used to purchase materials for this project was made possible by the Kemper Community Service Grant from the 4-H Foundation and the BOAC Grant from the Department of Agriculture. Former Ava High School FFA teacher Tiffany Kauffman and 4-H leader Bonnee Stafford were writers of the grants. The 4-H volunteers, 4-H kids, and families spent several work days and evenings planning and completing these projects.
