Another rainy Monday morning, but I’m not griping. We have had over four inches of rain since Saturday morning. Our branches are running, but not full.
Norma Cross and I visited Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center Tuesday. We had lunch with Irene Richards, Goldie Miller, Lenora Burton and Roxie.
Janice Hawkins, Sue Brown, Norma Cross and Emillie Jenkins all visited with Pauline Hathcock Wednesday. They took her lots of goodies. She told me Judy Ross had been there with food also. She hasn’t been able to go to church for a while. She said she misses church so these ladies brought church to her from Goodhope General Baptist. Freeda Richards went down to see her on Tuesday.
DeAnn Thompson and I went to Springfield Wednesday for me to follow up with the bone and joint doctor.
Rod, Lisa and Kayli took Sue to the Missouri Eye Institute Wednesday for eye cataract surgery.
What a blessing, the rain is good on gardens and pastures.
Goodhope General Baptist Church had VBS this week. They had a very nice turn out. We appreciate Kimberly Stillings for directing.
Friday night was conclusion of VBS with barbeque hamburgers and hot dogs served to several in attendance of children and parents and grandparents.
Miss Savannah and her friend, McCoy Boring, visited with her Granny Sue one day last week.
Our prayers go out to the Metcalf family, LeeAnn is in the hospital.
Visitors this week of Ervin and Lodean have been Ron, Judy and Jerry of Mountain Grove, Jerry and Janice Hawkins and Sue Brown.
Attendance was 84 at Goodhope General Baptist Church Sunday.
There was two specials. Pastor David used Rev. 3:7. The Philadelphia Church was humble and dedicated to God, how dedicated are we to God? Do we try to work things out or depend on God? Several men, women and young people responded to the altar call. Praise God. After church several went in the rain to little Beaver on T Highway for a baptism. What a joy to see this young man get baptized.
The Sunday evening service was special also with singing and testimonies. David used Luke 15:11-24 for his sermon, good preaching Dave.
Proverbs 4:23-24, “Keep thy heart with all deligence; for out of it are the issues of life, put away from thee a forward mouth and perverse lips put far from thee.”
