Good morning to everyone out there. Hope you are enjoying this wonderful weather as much as I do.

When I was coming home from church last evening, July  28th a couple of local boys, Walker Mudgett and his cousin, Dakota, had wrecked their pickup across the road from Plainview School. They were very fortunate to come out alive. I told them God was with them, Dakota said, I have an angel with me from the looks of that pickup, he was right.

Kenny Hunt, Norma Cross and I visited with Roxanna and Duane Davis. The reason I went over there was to get some green beans. She has a beautiful garden, not a weed in it. Duane showed Kenny his workshop. He is proud of it.

The Thompsons, Kelly, DeAnn, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle returned Friday evening late from a vacation to the Quad Cities in Illinois and Long Grove, Iowa and Chicago. DeAnn showed the children where we lived, her school, Moline Christian and church, Wildwood Baptist in East Moline, Illinois. They had a visit with her cousins in Long Grove and an aunt in Davenport, Iowa. In Chicago they saw some of Kelly’s folks and they went to Six Flags and other points of interest. On Saturday eveing Kelly grilled brats and hamburgers for all of us at my house including some of the kid’s friends and Norma and Kenny and me.

Norma Cross visited with Irene Richards and Goldie Miller one day last week at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center.

Goodhope General Baptist attendance was 79.

Special was by Susie Adams. Pastor David’s message was from Revelations 3:7 about the church Philadelphia, dedicated to God, others fell short. How bad do you want righteousness? The church Philadelphia was humble and faithful to God. Pastor Dave also used I Peter 1:16 and John 14:6.

After church service the congregation drove down to Beaver Creek to witness a young man being baptized.

Evening service opened with good singing, prayer requests and testimonies.

Pastor David used scripture from James, chapter 3, “The Tongue.” Are you glorifying God with your tongue. It was good preaching Dave!

When you’re not in service Sunday night you sure miss a blessing.

Psalms 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.”
