Mt. Tabor Church

Everyone in Mt. Tabor community is enjoying the abundant rain of the last few weeks. Some of the creeks are running full and ponds are to the point of overflowing, with rain still in the forecast, what a blessing for August.

We continue to pray for the many needs of our community, church, and nation, as well as the unsaved and bereaved.

Company for Chestene Lietch this past week was son, Kenny, his daughter, Brenda, and her son, Cole Young, as well as Marsha Miller and daughter, Kalynn.

Eleazar and Ronda Soto visited Saturday with Martin Hathcock, and Jan Jones visited Sunday and attended Mt. Tabor Church with Martin.

Ruth Shumate and great grandson, Tyler, spent Sunday night with daughter, Theresa, and husband, Wally, in the Dogwood community.

Visitors in the Tom and Jewell Elliott home last week were LeAnna Elliott and children, and Martin Hathcock, on Thursday. James Elliott had the misfortune of getting stung on the face and since he is highly allergic to stings, his eyes and face have been very swollen, but is some better now.

Mr. and Mrs. Shaun Elliott, MaKayla and Logan, were hosts for a birthday get together in honor of his mother and sister, Tammy and Ashley Elliott, who were celebrating birthdays last week. Tom and Jewell Elliott were among several friends and family attending for lunch and visiting.

Harlin and Shirley Hutchison, Alic and Amy, visited Friday with Harold and Kay Hutchison.

MaKayla Elliott spent Sunday night and Monday with Tom and Jewell Elliott, then Logan Elliott spent Monday night and Tuesday with the Elliotts.

Harold and Kay Hutchison, accompanied by Amy Hutchison, drove to Joplin, Friday to spend the weekend with daughter, Kristy, and family. While there they celebrated Harold and Stephanie’s birthdays. Gary and Stephanie Mishler, their friend, Harrison,  Steven Tackett and Morgan Clements, who had spent the week with the Tacketts, all enjoyed several meals together, swimming, and playing games. Harold, Kay, and Morgan returned home Sunday afternoon.

Harold Hutchison enjoyed several calls from his family and friends wishing him happy birthday, Monday, August 5.
