Cross Country Cools Down

Ava cross country runners sit in ice baths for recovery at the close of the day’s workout. The ice bath keeps the lactic acid from accumulating in the muscles so the athletes are not sore later, and can train harder the following day. Coach Liz Kyger said the runners do this about three times a week after some of the harder workouts. The cross country team will open their season at Strafford this Saturday morning, beginning at 8 a.m.
