Shooting pains, burning joints, aches all over and stiffness are some of the ways people describe the pain of rheumatoid arthritis.  A new generation of sophisticated drugs is greatly improving the outlook for people with RA, but there’s a catch:  treatment works best when started early.  Osteoarthritis is a wear and tear form of joint degeneration, while RA occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the joints, typically those of the hands and feet, triggering inflammation of the synovium.  The joints become swollen, inflamed, stiff and sometimes severely deformed.  Talk to your doctor early and get treated.

Activities this week are Monday—Jam session 6-9.  Tuesday—Tai chi senior exercise class 10:30, OATS bus to West Plains.  Wednesday—OATS bus in and around Ava.  Thursday—Driver’s exam 9:30-3:30.  Friday—Tai chi senior exercise class 10:30, OATS bus in and around Ava.

We send prayers out to Wanda, our head cook, in the loss of her dad, Ray Lee.

Even if you’ve been fishing for three hours and haven’t gotten anything but a sunburn….you’re still better off than the worm.

Until next week, have a great one!
