We had a great week in Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. Kim Humbyrd was the director with many helping. After singing and pledges, supper was served to all. Juanita Menzies, Mary Lou Hodges and Frances Humbyrd were the cooks. Clay McFarlin and Aaron Humbyrd grilled hamburgers on Wednesday night. Jerry and Debbie Pitts brought pizzas on Friday night. Teachers were Jim and Kendra Harris in the nursery, Judy and Shannon Wilson with Primary, Connie Johnson with Juniors and Peggy Miller and Clay McFarlin taught the teens. Pastor Neal did the closing service each evening and God blessed as always.
Brad Siler, our Sunday school superintendent, opened our Lord ’s Day service with a greeting and prayer requests. Some were given and Jerry Pitts prayed this prayer.
After Sunday school, Daniel Boyd prayed the offertory prayer as he and Aaron Humbyrd received our Lord’s tithes and offerings with LeaAnn Crum at the piano. Danny Johnson led us in song.
Pastor Neal greeted us and asked for praises and testimonies. Some were given. He asked for prayer for a friend of his family, a firefighter from Marshfield, Matt Blankenship, who died this week. He read from Deuteronomy 7, we need to understand who our God is. Jesus went before us on the cross. This is our problem, following him. Let us remember.
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed followed by singing. Then, he did a dedication service for little Ameris Siler, infant daughter of Brad and Patty Siler, with many grandpas, grandmas, aunts and uncles on both sides of the family present along with Mom and Dad and big sister, Adalynn. He shared the story of Hannah in I Samuel. He also thanked Brad and Patty for their faithfulness to our church. We are grateful to have them as a part of our church family.
A Bible school program was presented. Kim Humbyrd thanked everyone who helped and the kids for coming. We were missing Erin and Jane, Gary and Sherry Johnson’s granddaughters, who had to go home to St. Charles, Missouri on Saturday. Adalyn Siler, Casey Dobbs and Makinna Humbyrd helped with pledges; teachers and other adults helped with the singing.
On Saturday, July 20th, a wedding shower was held for Samantha Dobbs and Joey Ledford, who will be marred on August 3rd at Camp Joy. Kelly, Samantha’s aunt, Rhonda and Abby Dobbs did a great job with food and decorations along with friends and family. They received many nice gifts. Our church family has prayers and best wishes for them.
Prayer meeting is every Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Bible study every Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Come and be with us. You are always welcome.
