Ah, summer! The season of shorts, short sleeves, barbecues and vacations….but also sunburns, hay fever, humidity and bugs. A deer tick as small as a poppy seed can carry Lyme disease, anaplasmosis and babesiosis. Ticks can also cause ehrlichiosis and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
Wear insect repellant, long sleeves, long pants, socks and closed-toed shoes when walking through the woods. Inspect your skin when you go indoors, including your armpits and groin area.
Get medical help if you develop chills, fever, fatigue, headaches or difficulty breathing or bleeding disorders.
I’m told Monday night’s jam session started out with a bang on the first of July with 118 present. You don’t even want to hear about this last Monday, but new singers were there and the music was gooder than ever and the attendance was wall to wall with several more chairs brought in.
Don’t let aging get you down. It’s hard to get back up.
Until next week, have a good one!
