Jean Daugherty visited with her nephew, Billy Fletcher, last week. Donald Fletcher came Saturday and did some odd jobs around the house for Billy. Billy has a good family.

Norma Stillings and her friend, Bobbye Priddy, drove to Silver Dollar City, Thursday. It was a beautiful day to be out. They especially enjoyed watching the trained stunt dogs and the “mad” scientist. For Norma it was a day to remember her parents, Melvin and Juanita Rogers. It would have been their 77th wedding anniversary. The Rogers had spent many of their anniversaries at Silver Dollar City starting in 1975 when they were hired to sing at the Mountain Folks Music Festival. They sang at the Wilderness Church for seven of those festivals and when they were no longer hired to sing there, they kept going back for that festival until Juanita’s final illness brought that to an end. Silver Dollar City no longer does that festival, but performers in the Wilderness Church still offer an opportunity to hear and sing along with the old hymns and gospel songs.
