Caney Church News

Caney went to the White River youth camp Wednesday evening service. They had a very good service. Several youth sang specials. After a good message several went forward. It was wonderful to see them be serious about the Lord.

Sunday school opened with congregational singing.

Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone to service. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer.

Jack read Psalms 92:1-8 for our devotion.

Praise and Worship began with testimony from Jeff Shipley and Janice Lafferty. We proceeded with congregational singing. Special music by Ethel Metcalf and Melissa Harmon.

Pastor Bill Austin spoke this Sunday morning from John 14:1-6 and Romans 10:7-5. He asked the question, “How can we know the way?” Jesus is the way. He will show us the way as parents should train their children the ways of Christ. Christ shows us His love thru discipline so our parents should show their love by discipline and teaching right from wrong. Believe, repent, confess Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

It is so good to know Jesus.

We are blessed at Caney to have God called, spirit-filled men to lead us. We were blessed to have some of the Dean family visiting today. We hope they will come back again.

Sunday evening service began singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Bill Austin, Lila Roberts, Doris Lambeth, Janice Lafferty and Melba Austin. Bro. Jack Essary brought our message Sunday evening from Revelations 22:18-19 and Genesis 6:5-6. When we stand before people or congregation we should tell the good as well as the bad. There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. The end of time is coming and it’s not all good. God is good, gracious and merciful, but He is also a wrathful God. God knows the heart. Be ready, Jesus is coming soon. Media will tell us all we all go to a better place, but that’s not true.

It was a blessed day in the Lord.

Come be with us. You are always welcome.
