Caney Church

Caney Church came together singing praised to the Lord Wednesday evening. Bro. Lynn Crider was our leader this week. He taught from Exodus 20:1-17, 23:1-2, Lev. 19:11-19, Numbers 35:30, Deuteronomy 17:2-6, Proverbs 6:16-19, 14:25, 14:-9, John 8:1 and Jerm. 17:9-13. The Ten Commandments are God’s absolute! His main thought was on false witness. You can tell the truth and still be a false witness if you are using it for your own purpose. A lot of time when Satan is blamed, it is usually me and you. When we have Jesus in our heart we tarnish Him when we do wrong. God hates those that sow discord among brethren. Make sure that what you say is right and good for Christ. God knows your heart. God has to look through Christ’s blood to see us. We learned so much from this man. We were truly blessed.

Sunday school opened in congregational singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were  received. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led us in prayer. Bro. Jack read Joshua 24:14-24 for our devotion. We should all say “as for our house we will serve the Lord.”

After a good Sunday school lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Courtney Shipley. God bless her. Maddie Shipley sang while offering was received.

Praise and Worship  began with testimonies by Jeff Shipley, Hi Lambeth and Bill Austin. We proceeded to congregational singing. Special music by Melissa Harmon and Melba Austin. We welcomed a new baby into our church, Talon Cruse Thomas. Parents our Craig and Lindsey (Clemens) Thomas. Bro. Jerry Loveland was our guest speaker this beautiful Sunday morning. He asked the question, “Do we really deserve God’s love?” His scripture was I Kings 18:41-19:8. Many people today are discouraged and turning their backs on God. This is when they need Him most. There is enough blood on the cross to save the whole world if they’d only believe and receive Christ died for them. It was a thoughtful message.

Sunday evening service began with singing. Pastor Bill took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jack Essary led in prayer. Testimonies were given from Jim Lafferty and Melba Austin. Donna Loveland sang. Bro. Jerry Loveland brought the evening message from Acts 12:1-16. Prayer is our main source to Heaven. When we pray ernestly things will happen. There is power in prayer. If our sights are on Jesus, we’ll make it to Heaven. Service closed with altar and prayer.

We were so glad for our visitors, we pray you will come again. You are always welcome.
