Norwood Gleanings

Howdy. Well the building on Travis and Mikyla’s house is coming along pretty good now. Chad said he sure is happy to have “Plum Bob Dave” helping him (David Richardson) to all of you that didn’t know who that was. David is on vacation and he is spending it down at the house helping, also Charles Shelton, Terry Hopper and Quinton Richardson has lent a helping hand. They appreciate it so much. I found a way to keep them working. Just bring a snack every day. I took something one day that just about caused us to divorce. Chad’s mushrooms. Wow, was I in trouble. Ha ha!

Don’t forget we have an important election coming up June 4.

Last week there was a misprint on my behalf. Gorman Bennett did not leave goats at his mothers, it was sheep. I guess sheep are a little more high classed than raising goats.

Jimmy and Joyce at Hillbilly Hollar was proud of the turnout they had for their grand opening. The winners for their drawings were Gary Dedmon, Hartville, and Pepper Martin from Dora. They won Cardinal tickets. Two gift certificates went to Don Kelly and me. Both from Norwood, and Mark Hyde, Mountain Grove and Jackie Copeland, Mansfield won heirloom seeds from Baker Creek..

There was a llama found on the boys baseball field and Bob Rein pretended he was a cowboy and managed to rope it, to remove it. It was a end of school year prank.

Jonas Yutzy is getting his tree stumps removed for free, you might ask him for all the details.

Robert Gray is home now and seems to be doing a little better. Lyle Bradshaw is in the hospital. He had another operation and there was some complications. He has a long way to go.

Sorry to hear that Vicki Bieze passed away this week. Her and her husband Duane moved in over 20 years ago down on C Hwy. on the old Mink place. Our sympathy goes out to Duane.

Congratulations to the girls trio that went to state. They got a one rating which is the best. Alice Sullivan, Brooke Cudworth and Madison Crain. The proud parents are Chad, Cindy Sullivan, Wes and Tammy Cudworth, and Shannon, Julie Crain.

Turkey season is over and that usually means the mushrooms are about done too. They were good eatin’ while it lasted.

Don’t forget your momma on Mother’s Day. It’s coming up the 12th and the Alumni Banquet is on the 11th at 7 p.m. My dad’s class has been out 50 years this year. Alot of them plan on being there. Last day of school is May 16.

Fun Facts: Wright County was named for Silas Wright, U.S. Senator of New York. County was organized Jan. 29, 1841.

Thought: Need a new life? God accepts trade-ins.

Until next week, God bless our little town.
