Gentry Church

Opening our morning service with prayer was Joie Welker.

In our Sunday school classes we studied how God uses every gift and every person to help serve others.

Our specials this morning was Pauline Welker with a reading and a song by the group of Johnnie Miller, Wanda Casady, Bobbie Miller and Joie and Rod Welker.

A big congratulations goes out to Colton Davis for graduatiing from Ava High School and his parents Doug and Sheila Miller had a big fish fry and dinner for him Sunday afternoon.

Wednesdays nights we are back to meeting at 6 p.m. for choir practice with Bible study and video at 6:30 p.m.

Harley Allen got a good praise report after having some work done on his eyes last week and he can see better at this time.

Our sympathy goes out to Ruby Buchanon and family in the death of her daughter, Carolyn Ellison, who passed away in Oklahoma.

We were happy to hear that Dean Casady made it safely home after working a time in Taiwan.

Bro. Bob Huskey brought the morning message on “How To Kill A Giant” from I Samuel, chapter 17. David says to Goliath I come against you in the name of the Lord. God takes unusal situations to show you God’s power. We have to remember that our battles is the Lord’s. We need to stand up and fight for what is right in today’s society.

In our evening service, our specials were by the woman’s group, Faye Allen, Wanda Casady, Sue Thomas, Charlotte Reich, Delores Young and Pauline Welker. Also a song by Bob Huskey and Charlotte Reich.

Bro. Huskey’s evening message was from I Peter, chapter 3. Do we have the strength and faith to stand persecutions and defend our faith. Blessed are those that suffer. The Holy Spirit is our conscience and guide.

Bro. Huskey will be here preaching for us next Sunday morning and night. Everyone is invited to come and worship with us.
