After opening prayer and singing for our morning service, in our Sunday school class we studied about relying on our living hope in Jesus. Always remember that our troubles in this world are nothing compared to the eternal life we have in Jesus.
Remember next Sunday, May 12 is Mother’s Day so join your mother in church and keep them in rememberance.
All the mothers at Gentry are invited to meet at Ruby Gardens for lunch Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m.
Our guest speakers this Sunday was Bro. Rodney Brown and his text was from the book of Ephesians. Even when we were dead in sins God who is rich in mercy loved us.
I met with some dear old friends of mine over at the home of Johnnie and Gaylene Ripee Thursday evening and sure enjoyed it. Those there besides the host were Sue (Tate) Shrader from California, Beulah McGinnis from Marshfield, Myrtle (Rippee) Phelps from Kansas City and Shirley (Singleton) Smith.
Visiting in our home oever the weekend and attending the Alumni Banquet was my brother, Wayne and wife, Pam Henderson, from Independence, MO.
In our evening service our specials were from the Gentry Singers. Bro. Brown’s evening message was continued in the book of Ephesians. For by grace are you saved through faith and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. The service closed with a circle prayer.
