Caney Church

Sunday school opened with congregational singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jeff Shipley led our hearts in prayer. Jack read John 14:1-7 for our devotional. It was a wonderful promise from the Lord.

Praise and Worship began with testimonies by Jeff Shipley, Lorrinda Coulter, Janice Lafferty and Melba Austin. We proceeded with congregational singing. Special music was by Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from Acts 26:25-29. We need the words of truth today from the pulpits Jesus taught so that all could hear, see and understand the word. What keeps you in bondage? Fear? Tradition? Your own way? Unbelief? Illness? Put away your bonds and know this, Jesus can set you free from bondage. We came together Sunday evening to sing and praise the Lord and the hear His word. Bro. Bill took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Testimony was given by Hi Lambeth. Bro. Jim Lafferty was our speaker Sunday evening. He brought his message from Proverbs 14:1-35. We need to seek God’s forgiveness and turn from the wrong way and try to live right in God’s sight. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people,” Proverbs 14:34. A good message to think about.

Bro. Jerry Loveland will be our guest speaker, June 2. Come worship with us at Caney. You are always welcome.
