It is kinda gloomy down here in the holler this morning, but I think spring is here.

Tim Jenkins’ mother, Margie, and sister, Debbie, came up from Poplar Bluff Monday to take Tim out for lunch to help him celebrate his birthday. I can always remember he was born on April 1st.

Pete and Sandra Jenkins came up from Fayetteville, Arkansas Wednesday for a visit with Norma and I. We had lunch at the Ava Drug. Pete always enjoys the five cent ice cream at the drug store.

Kenny Hunt, my nephew, came down Thursday to help me do some cleaning.

Norma, Kenny and I went to Springfield Friday. We picked Seth Hunt up after school Friday afternoon. We all went with Kelly and DeAnn Thompson, Kailey and Kyle to the Amish restaurant north of Norwood.

Juanita Herrell stopped by for a visit one evening last week.

Saturday the Thompson’s took Kailey to her ballgame in Springfield. She only has one game left. After the game they went to see the Adams Family play at Juanita K. Hammons Hall.

I was sorry to hear of Tom Brown passing away. He had been sick for several weeks. We will miss seeing his smiling face at church. He and Sue had written several songs and had made a lot of tapes. He will truly be missed at Goodhope General Baptist Church.

Pete and Sandra Jenkins and I stopped to see Peggy Jenkins and Goldie Miller Wednesday at the healthcare center. Norma Cross goes up there several times a week.

Psalm 118:1, “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth forever.”
