Helen Fern Gardner, 87

Helen Fern Gardner, 87 years, passed to Heaven on March 10, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo., with her daughter, Linda and Sam by her side.
Helen was born Oct. 19, 1925 in Longrun, Mo., to Thomas Blaine and Eliza Mae (Hampton) Hobbs.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Ozark County, Mo. She lived in the Nottinghill community.
On May 23, 1942 Helen and Glenn Gardner were united in marriage in Ava, Mo., and to this union one daughter, Linda was born.
Helen was a true Christian and had been attending the Oak Grove General Baptist Church when her health permitted. Helen worked hard on the dairy farm with Glenn. She loved caretaking the homestead. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Her joy was being with her family and spending time with her special friends, Sue Gower and Hester Tidwell.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Gardner;  one brother, Ellis Hobbs and four sisters, Viva, Beulah, Maxine and Fay.
Helen is survived by her daughter and husband, Linda Lou and Samuel Peter White, Nottinghill, Mo.; a granddaughter, Sherri  Ann White, McAllen, Texas; one brother and wife, Rex and Lena (Ledbetter) Hobbs, McKinney, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Helen will be Friday, March 15, at  1 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, Mo., with burial in the Gaulding Cemetery, Nottinghill, Mo. Visitation will be Friday from noon to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be the Revs. Doyle Turner and Jim Kyle. Memorials may be made to American Heart Assoc. or Gaulding Cemetery.
