Willene Adams, 91

Willene Adams, 91 years, passed to heaven on Feb. 23, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava, Mo.
Willene was born Nov. 24, 1921 in  Dolph,  Ark., to Rev. Benjamin Nelson and Zelma Elizabeth (Hively) Hall.
On June 17, 1938 in Augusta, Kan., Willene and Charley Adams were married and to this union six children were born.
Willene was a resident of the Goodhope community for most of her life.
Willene was a Christian and a charter member of the Red Bank Baptist Church. She worked with the Ava and Plainview Headstart programs and also taught Adult Education in Ava. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, and quilting.
Willene was well known for always loving to cool her feet in the water wherever her travels took her.  Willene was also known for her homemade rolls that everyone in the family enjoyed on many occasions. She loved to sing and play gospel music.
Willene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charley; a son and daughter -in-law Chuck and Elaine Adams; a daughter, Wilma Fossett; and two sisters.
Willene is survived by her children, Howard and Phyllis Adams, Springfield, Mo., Irene and Roger Swearengin, Ava, Mo., Robert and Angie Adams, Ava, Stanley and Dottie Adams, Horseshoe Bend, Ark., David and Debbie Adams,  Purcell, Mo., Adrian and Wanda Adams of Porterville, Calif. Also surviving are a son-in-law, Lawrence Fossett, of  Los Osis, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a few great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Maxine Lirley, Ava, and Lynn Halcomb, Wichita,  Kan.; one brother and wife, Galen and Rowena Hall, Corona Del Mar, Calif.; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Willene will be Thursday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Visitation was Wednesday, 6 till 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating are the Revs. Lee Hampton and James Orick. Memorials may be made to Goodhope Cemetery or Red Bank Baptist Church.
