Mt. Tabor Church

Services began with prayer for those in need, the military, the unsaved, those with illnesses, nursing home patients, and the bereaved. We were sorry to hear of the death of pastor’s niece in Kansas City.

Brother Ric used the title,”Satan In His Best Dressed Suit”, as his message Sunday morning. He read his main scripture from 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. Everyone has their own idea of what satan or the devil looks like, and mostly it is a misconception. He looks like those we see and mingle with everyday, that’s why he is hard to deal with.

We plan to have an Easter sunrise service, beginning at 7 a.m. for the preaching time by Brother Ric, followed by breakfast and Sunday school. We invite everyone to come and join us and still be able to get to your church on time.

Mae Cox has had more visitors this passed week: Wayne Coy,of Arkansas, Peggy Jenkins, Joe Cox, Doris and Albert Elliott, Betty Jenkins, Lenore Burton, Donna Nichols, Lisa Johnson, and Kay Hutchison. Mae’s sister, Golda Dixon, her daughter, Ronda and her children, visited Mae and brought flowers.

We congratulate Miss MaKayla Elliott, on winning first place in the Bible Quiz, at Carthage, last Saturday. She had to memorize twenty bible verses, which is excellent. She will get to move on in the competition at a later date, and we wish her well. She is the daughter of Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, great-grand-daughter of Tom and Jewell Elliott.

Bonita Winingham and her friend, Pat Bantuyl, of Kansas City, arrived Thursday evening,at Tom and Jewell Elliott’s to spend time with family and friends. Joining them for supper that evening were James and Tammy Elliott, Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, MaKayla and Logan. Albert and Doris Elliott visited Monday afternoon, also.
