County Commission Considers Bids For Road Supplies

The Douglas County Commission met in regular session Monday morning, Feb. 25, at the courthouse.

After approving court orders for the tax books and requisitions for general supplies and maintenance, the commissioners opened bids for various supplies.

Bids submitted for culvert pipes included: Metal Culverts, $17,597.64; Viebrock, $19,023.86; and West Pipe Co., $20,475.98. The commissioners accepted the bid of Metal Culverts, which was the low bid.

Bids were opened for grader blades as follows: Murphy, $10,032.30; Fabick, $10,181.70; and Viebrock, $9,844.20. Accepted was the low bid submitted by Viebrock.

The commissioners had also requested bids for tires. Only one bid was submitted, by Ava-Theodosia Country Tire & Lube, so the commissioners chose to not accept a tire bid.

Present for the meeting were Presiding Commissioner Larry Pueppke, District 1 Commissioner Craig Cunningham, and District 2 Commissioner Leon Potter, along with County Clerk Karry Davis.
