Breedon Church

3-3-13. Sunday school opened with the reading of Psalms 67. Our lesson came from Ist Corinthians, chapter 12. This chapter addresses the gifts of the spirit. Paul is explaining to the brethren the different gifts that have been given to those that have them for God’s purpose. There are differences of administration, but the same Lord. In the 6th verse, he tells there are differences of operations, but it is the same God that worketh all in all. The manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit. Paul starts listing these gifts: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different tongues and to others the interpretation of tongues. These 9 gifts are given to different ones to accomplish God’s purpose. But Paul also acknowledges every one that all of our services to God are important to allow God’s leading and will. He likens these gifts to the human body that is made of different parts, but yet worketh together to make this one body work. If you feel you can’t do anything to help your church or do a work for God and His son, look at verse 22: “Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are ncessary. You are importatn in your church whether you preach, sing or teach. If you sit in the pew and pray even if you do it silently, this still strengthens the one body of Christ. Every one of us that Jesus has called and saved have a job to do to glorify God and be a witness to lead other souls to Christ. Never feel like you have nothing to do because a silent prayer for one that is in need or even a smile to one that is cast down can make a big difference. There is no “little” way to praise and serve God so stand up and be counted all children of God.

We entered into worship with congregational singing. Specials were by David Williams, Wilma Hampton and Susie Sisco. Bro. Cub (Joe) took the sermon from Isaiah 55. This is a great chapter to “seek the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah relays to us that God Almighty will have mercy to those that forsake their wicked ways and unrighteousness. Where man remembers, God forgets and forgives. There is spiritual water that God gives our soul and we can drink freely of this water. The world tells us he that is thirsty let him drink of this water. I pray that all will seek Christ and drink of this water that they may live eternally. God be with you all and bless you real good this week.
