Town & Country Bank’s Route 60 Showdown games delivered moments of great basketball action and free giveaways for fans on both sides of the contest. In one of the most dramatic finishes of the season, the Mtn. Grove Lady Panthers defeated the Ava Lady Bears on Jan. 31 with a final score of 50 to 49. The men took the floor on Feb 8 and Ava defeated Mtn. Grove with a final score of 49 to 42.
“The Showdown games were exciting this year,” says Town & Country Bank’s Bart Ellison. “The Mtn. Grove and Ava banking staff had a chance to see their school take home a trophy. Between the two games, Town & Country Bank donated a total of $500 to each school, gave away $300 in Country Mart gift certificates during our half-time free throw contests and tossed out more than 100 free t-shirts to the fans. Our staff looks forward to these games every year. It is a great way to support our schools and have some fun with the community.”
