St. Francis Church

Sunday, February 24 was the second Sunday in Lent. Altar and vestment colors are violet and during Lent morning prayer is replaced by The Litany or General Supplication for God’s mercy which is chanted by the priest and congregation. Bishop Hartley based his seromon on the Epistle for the day, 1st Thess. 4:1, in which instruction in sanctification, which means that we must be set apart from the world and follow God.

We are thrilled that Lincoln Connell has been accepted at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He was nominated by both U.S. Senators from Missouri as well as by Rep. JoAnn Emerson, and last Friday received a call from Rep. Emerson’s office with the news that he has been accepted. It has been his life long dream to go to West Point where he plans to major in military history and minor in religion.

The latest word I received on Fr. Lew Heigham, Jr. he is still in the hospital in St. Louis and was undergoing surgery. We have added him to our prayer list.

Bishop Glen Hartley leads services at St. Francis Anglican (Traditional Epsicopal) Church at 10:30 a.m. Sundays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Visit our website at stfrancisavamo.org.
