Bro. Rick’s sermon today came from Acts 14: 19-20 and 2nd Corinthians 12: 1-4.  “I believe in a literal heaven and hell.  I can see shadows of hell from some of the hellish things that have happened here on earth.  We see shoot-outs, scandals, abandoned children, results of drug and alcohol use, etc.  Even nature has been infiltrated by sin.  The ground has been cursed. Examples are: thorns and thistles, stickers on blackberries, beggars lice on your pants, etc.  We should dwell on Heaven where the righteous are going.  I can see the remnants of Heaven on earth.  God is still in control.  Look at the sunshine and the warm temperatures; chickens now laying more eggs; grass starting to turn green in small patches; little yellow flowers popping out; white snow patches; the bright blue sky, etc.  God has done things that have lasted.  Just think how beautiful and perfect Heaven will be.  It is ok to get excited about Heaven.  We are not just going on a vacation to Heaven, but we are going there forever.  When we get to Heaven, we will feel like it is home.  I think the things we enjoy here on earth will be enhanced in Heaven, even the social times.  It will be great to get a new body in Heaven with no more aches and pains.  I think we should turn loose of the keys of this old world and look forward to Heaven”.

The ladies had a brunch on Saturday morning, and Jeni Dixon was the speaker.  Jeni’s subject was:  “Are you out of your prime?  As we age, we have body changes, and we may think we are out of our prime.  But we are probably not out of our prime spiritually.  As older ladies, we should pass on our love for the Lord to our children and other young people.  We should invest time in young people.  We should each know that we are a princess, and we are daughters of the King.  We should know that each day we have an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.  Jeni gave some examples about doing Bible study every night with 30 girls at the pageants she has been in.  She left us with this thought- remember ‘For Such a Time as This’.  We get opportunities to change lives, and we don’t want to miss those opportunities”.  Teresa Dixon led everyone in the song before Helen Batten gave out door prizes.  Everyone had a great morning. Jeni, Teresa, and Helen were much appreciated.
