Red Bud News

A good morning to all our readers. We hope everyone had a safe and good weekend. I want to start by giving my appreciation to the employees of the Herald office for our gifts that we received.

We send get-well wishes to all the sick, the ones in the hospitals and the nursing homes.

Our sympathy to all who have lost loved ones. May God bless you in your time of sorrow. Our thoughts are with you.

This news from the desk of Ellis and Emmalyn Stephens. Hope everyone had a great holiday. Ellis and I have been down with the flu. I ended up in the hospital for four days, but we are doing better now. On December the 17th my children and grandchildren were here for our Christmas – Mike and Connie Burris, Jackie Poole, Rashelle, Quentin, Alyssa Hammons from Rogersville, Taylor, Lesley, Luke Thompson from Mansfield, Tina, Gordan, Doran and Brooklyn Simmons from Ava, West, Beth, Tanner and Louta Johnson of Ava. It keeps getting harder to get us all together. Ellis and I went to Charlotte and Leonard Koop’s the 23rd of December for Christmas. Other family members attending were Dewayne and Winky Stephens, Shane Koop, Shannon and two children, Steven and Jennifer Heinlein and family, Shelby and daughter had gone to Branson. We had our New Year’s Eve Party game night on December 31 with nine attending in the village.

This news from the desk of Fae Pruett. Larry and Wanda Hutchinson and Evelyn Witchey ate Christmas dinner with Fae. Lois Graham has visited with Fae. Wanda Hutchinson came up Friday and took Fae to the doctor then she stayed and visited for a while.

This news from Goldie Kester. On Sunday the sixth the family of Goldie had their Christmas get-together  with about 38 that attended. Goldie is one of our newest residents in the village. We want to wish all the people who had a birthday at this time a big Happy Birthday with many more to come. We hope you have a great day.

We want to say welcome to our new neighbors. It is good to have the Curry’s back with us. Norma Jones spent the weekend at the farm with the girls, and Jacob. We had a late birthday, Christmas and New Years party all at one time for Jacob. I, Norma, also got a birthday gift. It was a lot of fun to watch a five year old unwrap his gifts. We had quite a party for just five people – Amy, Naomi, Jacob, Norma and Peggy Greene. I, Norma, got the biggest package, but Jacob got the most gifts. The girls did a great job for the party. On the 23rd of December our family had our Christmas dinner at Derek and Christina’s home. A good time was had by all who attended.

I, Norma, had dinner at the home of Jerry Lee and Kim Watkins on the 24th as they were going up North Christmas Day to her parent’s home.

We hope everyone has a good year for 2013 and that you are safe and healthy throughout the year. Jesus loves you.
