James and I attended the Christmas program at Eastern Gate, Mt. Olive and Garrison churches. All the children and adults did real good. December 23rd Delmina Woods youth did two skits and opened their presents from the folks at Garrison Church. They chose a name and the girls had what they wanted on their list.

Christmas Eve my siblings got together here at our home. We visited and ate together. It made my Christmas great. After all we were all raised here. Sybil Harvill, Junior and Betty Halcomb, Rex and Shirley Halcomb came. I know our loved ones don’t look back to this sinful world, but I felt Mom had a smile on her face. I sure miss the folks and our brother, Gordon, and brother-in-law, Oren Harvill, who went to be with the Lord, but we will all meet again.

Get-well wishes sent to Jim and Alice Nelson, Connie Siler and some of her family have been sick, Rev. Gale Osburn who had surgery and Rev. Terry Bennett who was in a car accident.

Sunday Ervin and Sandra Maggard and Valerie Austin visited Iona Maggard. Iona enjoyed Christmas at Ervin’s with his family. Iona enjoyed all her friends and family who stopped by during Christmas and all her phone calls.

Gracie Mitchell and Raina Powell visited us Sunday evening. They and Juanita and Jerry Powell visted Jerry Nelson.

Sunday at Garrison Baptist Church December 30th, 60 were present. Specials were performed by Bob Hammons. It was good to be in church with him and Dee. He sure blesses your heart with his songs. God truly gave him a great talent. Justin was in for a visit, always a blessing there. He is a fine young man. Lisa and Wyatt Ellison sang. They really helped out and Wyatt loves to sing. James preached from St. John 8:31-36. We had a good altar service Sunday and Sunday night.

Sympathy to Brenda Cummings as her grandmother passed away and to all who have lost loved ones.

Sunday, December 30 George and Janie Morrison had all their family for dinner and gift exchange. Jean Loomis, Bo, Racheal and Calab Morrison, Rhonda Stokes and Leslie, Courtney Stokes, Dylan, Layne, Ayden and Kyle, a friend, Dale, Jayme Morrison and Shawn Clinkingbeard.

Wednesday morning Dillon and Gary Morrison stopped by. We enjoyed them. The visit was short, but that evening Dillon had a birthday party for his great grandchild to attend. Dillon had a good visit with his sister, Ortha Lawrence of Ava. He had really enjoyed it.

Sybill Harvill enjoyed Christmas dinner at her son’s Gary and Sandra Harvill’s, their children, Kim, Casey and Garrett Ewing, Shellie, Clint, Colton and Wyatt Marler, Gary’s brothers’, Mickey and Debbie Harvill and Bob Harvill, his sister, Shirley and Steve Clark and her children, Keith Williams, Chance and Betty Gideon also enjoyed the day together.

I visited Sybil Harvill Thursday evening, Junior Halcomb and Rex and Shirley Halcomb have dropped by.

Thursday evening while walking I talked to Dillon Morrison and grandsons, Brandon and Chris.

Saturday morning Junior and David Halcomb visited. Saturday evening Rex Halcomb visited.

December 29th Blake Herd and Jennifer Devore were united in marriage here at our home. Rev. James Orick read the vows before their witness, Sydney Schaffer and Radford McGinnis and me.

On December 31, New Years Eve, James and I were married 32 years.

December 18th Kenny and Annie Goins celebrated 42 years of marriage as well as Gary and Sandra Harvill on his birthday, December 19. I visited them a few minutes. They were doing chores and going to their daughter’s, Kim and Casey Ewing and Garrett’s for Gary and Garrett’s birthdays. Garrett was born on Grandpa Gary’s birthday.

Happy 2013 and pray for our leaders to put God first.
