Albert and Doris Elliot visited with Tom and Jewell Johnson recently.
Norma Stillings and her son, Dan, drove to Springfield, Saturday for lunch and a visit with Debra Bohnstedt. Cliff was in the deer woods for the day. Norma, Dan, and Debra attended a birthday party for their cousin, Gail Mitchell who was celebrating her 70th birthday. Gail’s daughters, Paula and Heather had planned the event. There were people from Gail’s Central High Graduating class, people from Assembly of God Headquarters where Gail had worked for 30 years, and friends and family from all over. There was a lot of visiting, looking at picture albums, and eating at the Panera Bread on North Kansas Expressway. Gail’s five grandchildren also provided a lot of entertainment for the event just being kids.
Gail Mitchell is the daughter of the late John and Eula Rogers Ferguson. Through her grandmother Ollie Allen Rogers, Gail is descended from the Andrew and Ann Newsome Hartley family that produced so many well known western Douglas County families who lived and died in the areas around Arden and Arno, and up and down Cowskin and Beaver Creeks. Some of those early family names were Gentry, Turner, Brown, Hammons, Garrison, and Allen.
