Mt. Tabor Church

It was another beautiful day to meet to worship, glad to have visitors.  We had many on our prayer list, thankful for blessings, also. We have folks suffering with this summer cold. Brother Ric and Lisa have had children and grandchildren visiting, also.

Brother Ric began his message from Luke 5, urging us to launch our nets out into deeper water, and then continued Sunday evening.

The church presented Brother Ric and Lisa with a gift for Pastor Appreciation Day.

It was a wonderful day for Glade Top Trail and reports were that they had a  bumper crop.

Mae Cox had Tom and Donna Nichols and Lisa Johnson as visitors this past week. Jesse accompanied his dad, Jimmy, to Kansas City to the car races.

Visitors recently with Bessie Hall were Jo Stephens, Jewell Elliott, Chestene Lietch, Kim Clements, J.C. Hall, Vicky Burnett, Kay Hutchison, Imogene Madewell and Lisa Johnson.

Congratulations are in order again this week for Miss MaKayla Elliott. She did great in the Bible Quiz Bowl, bringing home several Gold Awards. She is the daughter of Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, with many grandparents, and great-grands who are equally proud. Jewell Elliott was able to attend this event in Seymour. They also attended the Stained Glass Theatre.

Kay Hutchison visited Ruth and Lloyd Shumate Saturday morning. Also visiting were Larry Shumate and three of Ruth’s great grandchildren.

Lucille DeBerry spent Thursday night and Friday morning with Harold and Kay Hutchison.

Ronnie and Pat Lansdown attended the funeral for Ronnie’s last uncle in Arkansas this week. Kenneth and Carla Aborn accompanied them. They were able to visit with family and friends and reminisce about old times.

Martin Hathcock has been one of those with the summer cold, barely able to talk. Visitors in the Hathcock home were Ronda Soto, Jan Jones, Pernie Adams and Dennis, and Wilma and Richard Milke.

Larry Stewart had lunch with Harold and Kay Hutchison, Saturday.
