Gentry Church

Opening the morning worship with prayer was Joie Welker.

In our Sunday school class we studied about learning to be grateful. When we realize that god has blessed us so much we see how big and wonderful He is. He gives us more than we truly deserve.

Happy Birthday wishes went out to Charlotte Reich and also Doug and Sheila Miller celebrated another wedding anniversary last week.

Our special song was by Faye Allen with Harley on guitar.

George Welker remains in the hospital taking treatments, the family appreciates all the prayers said on his behalf.

Harley Allen had a good praise report and is doing so much better, his recent tests were very good.

Pastor Hall’s morning message was from II Thess., chapter 1, “The Reality of Hell.” Jesus preached more about hell than he did about heaven and vengance on them that know not God and obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is true.

Harold and Beulah McGinnis from Marshfield visited us over the weekend. They were observing their 50th wedding anniversary so we went to Theodosia and ate at Cookie’s Restaurant then over to Gainesville to visit Harold’s sister, Rose. There was a big crowd attending Hootin’ An’ Hollarin’.

Next Sunday is the Fifth Sunday Singing at Pleasant Ridge Church beginning at 6 p.m. at Dogwood.

In our evening service after singing and testimonies, our special song was by Rod Welker, Faye Allen, Charlotte Reich, Brenda Hampel and Wendell Deo.

Bro. Hall’s message was from Romans 8. We were born with inbred sin. God can take sin out of anybody and cleanse the heart of everyone. Jesus died that we may be freed from sin.
