Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare

Hello from our home to your home. It has been another busy week around here. On Saturday morning Norma Stillings and Tom Hawkins had a church service in the main lobby.  A lot of wonderful piano music followed by a Bible reading with Tom Hawkins.  Our home is blessed with several ministers, Bro. Tom, Bro. John, and Sister Lucy. Church services are open to everyone and several people have accepted Jesus into their hearts.

Danny Ousley called Pokenno Saturday afternoon for Maxine.  Maxine fell and broke her hip, so everyone be praying for Maxine’s recovery.  I will miss her writing the news for me.  She arrived home Monday afternoon.

Sunday Bro. Larry Moore was here for Sunday school followed by the  Goodhope Nazarene Church.   Churches scheduled for the coming month of September are:   Sept. 2nd  Ava Assembly of God, Sept. 9th  Skyline Full Gospel, Sept. 16th Sandy Church, Sept. 23rd LIFE Church and Sept. 30th Gridner Church.

Yorik and Magik along with their owners were here Monday morning and visited with all of the residents.  The dogs always do tricks for the residents along with getting petted several time during the visit.   Jon and Marilyn Slaton are the owners and they volunteer for Hospice Compassus.  They visit with us each month.

Jayma Potter from Three Rivers Hospice called games for us Monday afternoon.   Evelyn Harper from Hospice Compassus called Tuesday afternoon, she is known as the candy bar lady, as she gives out treats to everyone playing.  Ms. Evelyn will be having knee surgery, so please put her on your prayer list.  We will be missing her while she is recupurating from her knee.  Wednesday afternoon Maxine called games for the residents.   Thursday Pebbles Jones and Warren Gunter called games for the residents.  The residents have started calling them the Pebbles and Bam-Bam team. Pebbles and Warren volunteer for Three Rivers Hospice.  Friday afternoon our caller was Carrie McIntosh, and everyone always loves the surpise gift she brings to give to the winner.   Game time usually has around 25 residents playing  Monday through Friday.

Whitney Pollard and Sara Johnson are here from Three Rivers Hospice doing fingernails on Tuesday afternoon.  We have  both male and female residents getting their nails done!   They love to visit with the girls.

We have been having back to school activites since this is back to school month, residents have enjoyed having Spelling Bee,  Geography, History, Arthemetiric and having recess. Ruth Evans has been helping out on the Back to School activities.

Darrell Issac is now giving two extra van rides during the week, and they are a big hit with the residents.  You never know where you will see our van on our country van rides.

Resident Council voted to have a Fish Fry for their monthly dinner and boy did the dietary department shine with an awesome meal of deep-fried fish, shrimp and hushpuppies served with coleslaw and crab salad.  Dessert was a peanut butter pie.  Good, Good, Good is all I have to say about that dinner.  Everyone is still talking about the crab salad.

The 1st Sonshine Group is here every Friday morning at 10:30,  good music, good worship and some awesome visiting with this wonderful group.   They are dedicated to our home.  I’m lucky to have such wonderful volunteers.

The Kingdom Kids was here for music with the residents, this group started out as a childrens group, but now is made up of grown-ups from around Bradleyville.  We appreciate everyone who makes our home wonderful and active.

We would like to welcome Elizabeth Howard, Cecil Fergerson and Martha Goodrich to our home.  Congratulations to Bertha Matthijetz, Ross Martin and Taylor Hale  for getting to go home this week.  God Bless You From Our Home to Your Home.
