It’s nice to look outside and see green grass again and after the rain everything looks cleaner and brighter. We need lots more rain and hopefully we will start getting some. I visited with my ister, Verda Komlo in Virginia today and she said they had been getting lots of rain and was raining there today.
The ladies that quilt on Tuesdays are quitting our quilting at 2 p.m. and having prayers in the church for needs and rain that our community needs and anyone that wants to come and pray at 2 p.m. is most welcome. We all have lots of needs.
We had good services Sunday. Bro. Bob taught on a renewal mind. Our key verse was, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. It was a good lesson on our “mind.” Pastor Benny Dewitt preached from St. John 4:7-21 and Isaiah 12:2-6. He titled the message, “What Are You Drawing With?” Sister Dewitt preaches usually at night and were so thankful to have such caring pastors who bring us good messages and always quick to be there when any of us need them.
The Fourth Sunday Singing will be at the Breedon Church Sunday at 2 p.m. Hopefully we will be going and singing that afternoon. It’s always good.
I fixed dinner for my family Sunday. I had help from both daughters and always enjoy Teresa coming fron Branson. Her husband works on Sundays so we miss him. Sherry and Wes and daughters, Albany and Addison were here and Albany’s girlfriend, Shay. Amber and Jerry both had birthdays. Andrew’s was the 17th and Jerry’s was the 19th. I can hardly believe that Andrew is 24 years old now.
I want to wish a Happy Anniversary to Bro. Bob and Sis. Shirley Fleetwood this week. Bro Darrel and Sis. Betty a Happy Anniversary last week and a Happy Birthday the same day to Sis. Betty Hesterlee. A Happy Anniversary to Bro. Bill and Sis. Evelina Miller. A Happy Birthday to Sis. Mary Conrad and also a Happy Birthday to Bro. Junior Peak at the nursing home. We have lots of August birthdays.
We heard that Bro Ross Martin may get to come home for awhile. He is still very much in need of prayer as is the whole family. I imagined they are all exhausted from his long stay in the hospital and rehab. I don’t know their new address, since they moved, but I’m sure he would appreciate cards.
We enjoyed the Oldfield Opry Saturday night . They had an early show with Beth Caudill and her youngest daughter at 5:45. The main show was Randy Rose who took Glen Dale Robertson’s place on banjo and his beautiful wife, Lisa, was there. The last few weeks Heath Roberts from Ava has been sitting in for some who are on vacation. The three ladies from the Opry will be singing with their band here at the theatre the last Thursday of this month, the 30th of August.
God bless you all.
