Caney Church

August 22 – We met at Caney Church to praise the Lord and study His word. Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Bill Austin led in prayer. Bro. Jim read Genesis 18:1-22. Wouldn’t it be great for the Lord to find favor in us? For Him to be pleased with what we say and do. We had a good discussion of God’s wonderful word.

Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary took charge of the service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 23 for our devotion. After Sunday school offering was received Sis. Tracy led our little ones in song. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Melba Austin, Susan Todd and Vanessa Mills.

Praise and Worship began with congegational singing. Four of our youth tried their hand at leading the songs. It was a blessing. Our youth will be our church soon. They need to know how to take on the responsibility of the church.

Melissa Harmon did a special. Pastor Bill took the pulpit this morning. He took his scripture from Acts 28:1. How kind are we to others? Sometimes its just a small thing that can turn into something great. What’s small for Jesus is great for us.

Sunday, September 9, come join us for dinners after morning service. Bring a covered dish and fellowship with us. You are welcome.

Sunday evening we met at Caney. Services began with singing. Bro. Jeff welcomed everyone to service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Lila led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Jim Lafferty, Melba Austin, Hi Lambeth, Lila Roberts and Jeff Shipley. Bro. Jack was our speaker Sunday evening. He brought his message from Proverbs 29:17-27. What if you had no vision or no hope? Would that not be sad? Place your trust in the Lord and you can have both. Lets teach our kids and grandchildren about Christ so they can have a vision and hope, plus an eternal life in Heaven. Lets make sure we don’t lead them wrong.

Both messages today were spirit-filled from God-fearing men. We are listening for the call.
