Sandy Church

Last Weeks News – Our devotional reading was read as we stood from Ezekiel 18.  Prayer requests were given for Danny Johnson, Eugene Eubanks, baby Cooper and Bible school next week.  Billy Hodges prayed this prayer then we sang several songs followed by Sunday school classes.

Daniel Wilson and Joshua Dalton received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.  Joshua prayed the offertory prayer.  Happy birthday was sung to Eldon Hodges, Doyle Humbyrd and Casey Dobbs.

Pastor Neal asked for praises and testimonies and some were shared.  Juanita Menzies gave a praise report for camps this year.  All went very well.

Pastor Neal read from Psalm 23.  He shared about his meeting in Kansas City with about 800 pastors attending.  He read Luke 18; “Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life” was the request.  He also shared some from an election sermon made in the state of Massachusetts in the 1800’s.  This makes us so aware of how far our nation has gone in the wrong direction.    Jim and Kendra Harris were in Children’s Church.

A special thank you time was given along with an Olive Garden gift card to Stan and Kim Humbyrd for their great work with the children in Children’s Church.

Evening services were dismissed to attend the special 4th of July at New Vision Church.

This Weeks News – Brad Siler, our Sunday School Superintendent, began our Lord’s Day service with a praise report from a baby we had been praying for.  He is the grandson of Ron and Beth Lawson.  He will not need treatments according to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  We give God the praise and glory.

Prayer requests were shared for our nation, Debbie’s brother, Eugene, Shannon Wilson as she traveled, Jay Parker, Steve Paul, Van Menzies preaching at New Vision and Bible school this week.  LeaAnn Crum prayed this prayer.

We were dismissed to Sunday school classes, came back together and were led in songs by Stan Humbyrd.

Testimonies were given and Pastor Neal continued to read in Luke 18.  He shared how our heart is where our testimonies are.  Oh how we work and plan for the temporal things here and forget about the eternal things.  We just need to seek Him first and all these things will be added.  He closed with special prayer for all the workers in Bible school this week.  We will start at 6 p.m. each evening.  After singing and pledges, we will serve supper to all then classes followed by recess and then crafts and chapel time with Pastor Neal.  Kim Humbyrd is the Director with many others helping out.

At 6 p.m. we began with singing.  Danny Johnson led us in “It’s Beginning to Rain” as we listened to rain falling outside, which was a lovely sound because we needed it so badly.  Even more, we need a spiritual rain in our churches today.  Dear Lord, let it be so.
