Ava Lions Club Has a Busy Meeting Monday

The Ava Lions Club met Monday evening to discuss changes and procedures for upcoming events.   Prior to the regular meeting several members met in a special session to discuss upcoming events like the anniversary dinner and the fall Fox Trotter horse show.

Committees were formed to oversee the anniversary dinner. A decorating committee decided how the facility should be decorated. A food committee discussed what the menu should be and how it is to be served.

Still another committee discussed entertainment and order of business.

Junior Marriot, champion fiddle player who has a music store on the square in Ava, has agreed to provide the entertainment for the anniversary dinner.

Finally, the Lions discussed the menu to be offered at the fall horse show and the proposed pricing changes.  The committees are to complete their coordination and report back to the club next Monday.

All agreed with the recommended changes and the planning meeting was adjourned.

With the planning meeting completed, at 6 o’clock the regular meeting was called to order by President John Weisbrod.  With no further business, the Lions enjoyed a dinner of pizza and soda then had a dessert of brownies and homemade ice cream provided by Evelyn Cantwell.

If anyone is interested in serving the community or volunteering to work on projects with the Lions they should contact any Lions member or call 683-0188 for additional information.
