Mt. Tabor Church

It was a wonderful Father’s Day to be out to worship. We had a large  crowd, took many prayer requests and some praise reports. We are thankful for each one that came, especially our visitors.

Brother Max Stephens was our guest speaker in both services. He took advantage of Father’s Day to speak about our heavenly “Father”. He used many scriptures to tell what Jesus had to say about His Father.

We sang Happy Anniversary to John and Jo Stephens for their 58 years together, and also to Ralph and Jane Call, who just celebrated their 50th.

After the service we gave gifts to our oldest father, John Stephens, our youngest, James Christensen and all the other fathers present received a gift from the church, also.

Our singing Saturday night was very good, we appreciate each one who came, and especially our ladies for our over abundance of food.

Mae Cox enjoyed phone visits from Johnny Pruiett and Jack Haden. Jack said his sister, Mary, was still not doing very well, she is a patient in the hospital at this time. Donna brought Mae to the singing Saturday evening.

Bessie Hall’s visitors this past week have been Jewell, J.C. and Vicky, Kim and Danny, Kay Hutchison, Jo Stephens, Hellen Blakey, Helen Turner and Judy Haden.

Some from the community attended the grave side service at Mt. Tabor for Liz Bailey, Monday. They came to Mt. Tabor Church before she and Howard moved to Ozark.

Mary Ann Hathcock is still not doing well at all. She has been seeing the doctor to get some relief but nothing seems to help. Visitors in the Hathcock home this weekend were Ronda and Eleazar Soto, Jim Hathcock and Jorie, Pat and Wes Smith, Jessica and Shawn Glossip and children.

Martin Hathcock attended a family reunion in Springfield last Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Lansdown, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Lansdown, Kayley and Jadon, drove to Ada, Ok., to visit Jill and Patrick O’Neal. They enjoyed eating out, visiting and it seems Jill has a “petting zoo”, while the children greatly enjoyed.

Ronnie Lansdown mowed for Myrl Tuesday, Pat cleaned house and Paul took Myrl for a nice long ride. Myrl’s other visitors recently have been Jeanne Cox, Garrett Richards, Doris Bonner, Norma Bogart, and Connie Holobaugh, who brought fresh vegetables from her garden to share, good neighbors are great to have!

Tom and Jewell Elliott, Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, and MaKayla and Tammy Elliott, attended Logan Elliott’s ballgame, Tuesday evening. J.C. Hall and Vicky Burnett came after the ballgame bringing ice cream cake to celebrate Jewell’s birthday, June 19.  Joining this group also was James and Tammy, Shaun, LeAnna and children. James also visited his parents one evening last week.
