Gentry Church

Opening prayer to start the morning service was by Joie Welker.  In our Sunday school lesson, we find people are searching for ways to find God.  When we read the Bible, Jesus shows us that He is the way, the truth and the life.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Glenda Miller.

We had many prayer requests and remember Harley Allen, as he is having surgery, Wednesday of this week.  Also Ruby Buchannan, as she has a fractured bone in her hand.

June 9th, the church is planning a trip to the zoo in Springfield, so mark that on your calendars.

In rememberance of our service men and women, who have given their lives for our freedom, our special song was, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Pastor Hall’s morning message was from Genesis 26:12-25.  Our special forefathers dug some deep wells, but the devil has filled them up.  We need to dig out our wells and get back to teaching our children truth, family devotion and praying together.

In our evening service, after singing and testimonies, our special song was by the Reich family; Kevin, Hannah and Keaton.

It was good to hear Cathy Cornett is recuperating at home after surgery, but still keep this family in your prayers.

Our guest speaker, Greg Mosley, had an evening message from Luke 17:34-37.  In the end of time, two may be together in a field, one will be taken and one will remain.  Like in the day of Noah, the people knew not until the flood came, so shall be the coming of the Lord.  Watch and above all, we need to follow Jesus.
