Ava Man Dies In One-Vehicle Crash at Squires Sunday Night

Roger Will, of Ava, died Sunday night when this GMC van he was driving ran off the road and overturned near Squires.

A one-vehicle crash at Squires Sunday night took the life of an Ava man.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Roger B. Will, 61, of Ava, was pronounced dead at 10:07 p.m. by Douglas County Coroner Rick Miller.
Will was driving a 2002 GMC Safari van north on Highway 5 when the 8:50 p.m. crash occurred.
The Patrol said the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway just north of Route JJ and overturned.
Will’s wife, Janet, who was a passenger in the van, was not injured.
The wreck was investigated by Tpr. J.D. Piccinino, assisted by Tpr. R.D. Vaughan and Tpr. S.J. Crewse.
Cox Ambulance, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Squires Fire Department and Ava City Fire Department also assisted with the crash.
The body was taken to Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava where services will be held Saturday morning.
Will was a press operator for the Douglas County Herald from April 2007 until November 2011.
