Cutting costs doesn’t have to ruin your quality of life. Here are five rules of frugality: 1-Don’t give up the things you love. Thriftiness should never outweigh happiness. 2-Find inexpensive ways to enjoy what’s important to you. You don’t have to own the books you read or the movies you see. There’s plenty of free music on your radio and computer. 3-Cut back on anything not crucial to your happiness. Give thrift shops a try. 4-Never go shopping without knowing exactly what you’re getting. It’s the things you don’t need that sacrifice your dreams. 5-Use the 30-day rule. Jot down the big item you’re considering. Give yourself a month to think about it and find the lowest price. Then ask yourself if you truly want it.

There were not enough players to have the pinochle tournament on May 9. We’ll try again next month on the second Wednesday.
We appreciate Barbara Sanders for bringing in flowers and tomato plants to help with our fundraiser efforts.
Until next week, have a good one!
