All Around Bradleyville

Somehow, last week my e-mail got lost between here and there and never got to the paper. It may still be floating around in cyber-space. Sorry for any inconvenience it caused.

Several students from Bradleyville Elementary competed in the Mark Twain Spelling Bee recently. Taylor McHaffie represented the 4th grade and came home with first place in her division. Jacquelyn Clemans also won the first place for the first grade division. I heard from Taylor’s grandma, Vicki Burkhart that they did an awesome job representing Bradleyville School.

Congratulations to Justin and Amanda Chaney on the birth of their daughter, Caroline Faith, who arrived on Thursday, May 3 at 1:15am. Caroline weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 ½ inches long.

Congratulations also to Dusty and Kay Hughey on the birth of their daughter, Madison Marie on Sunday, May 6. Madison weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19 ½ inches long.

The next two weeks are going to be very busy around here. Bradleyville School will be having Baccalaureate for the graduating classes on Wednesday night, May 9, and Graduation will be on Saturday, May 12 at 7 pm. The seniors will be leaving on their trip to Florida directly after graduation. Congratulations to all the graduates, high school and eighth grade class.

On Saturday, May 19th at 2:00 pm there will be a brief graveside service for Carl and Luella Bray at the Bray Cemetery near Hercules. Carl is the grandson of the former Pat and Allie Bray and has several relatives living in Missouri.

All graduates, from pre-school, kindergarten, eighth grade, high school or any college degree are invited, along with everyone else to help them celebrate.
