Gentry Church

Opening our morning service with prayer, was Doug Miller.  Our Sunday school lesson, was on the truth and we learned that Jesus is the one truth we need in our lives.

Gentry will be having a Sunrise Service at 7:00 a.m., April 8th, with

breakfast to follow.  At 9 a.m., we have an Easter egg hunt, then at 10:00, our morning service.  In our evening service at 6 p.m., we will have communion.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Wyatt Young.

The Gentry Singers, enjoyed singing at the nursing home, Sunday afternoon.  Joanna Huffman, is home and recovering from back surgery and reported doing well.

Our sympathy goes out to the Bob Leonard family, with the death of their mother.

Prayers for Michael Miller, as he is being deployed over seas soon, are appreciated.

Our special song was by Pauline Welker, Wanda Casady and Bobbie Miller.

Pastor Hall’s message was from Matthew 27:39-46.  On the cross, Jesus was separated from the Father.  Aren’t we glad, by the blood of Jesus, we know God the Father and are joint heirs with Jesus.  God saved the thief on the cross, when he said to Jesus, “Remember me when you come into the Kingdom.”

In our evening services, our special songs were by Faye Allen, Rod Welker, Wanda Casady and Narvil Tetrick, singing a song with a recitation.  The evening message was from Luke 23:46.  Jesus said,”Father, into Thy hands I commend my spirit”.  He laid down His life for us, we must commit everything we have to Him.
