Wednesday evening is now a preaching evening. Chad Emerson had the pulpit after the change over.
Jesus prayed more than three times, but this is what Chad spoke on, Matthew 26:39, he took the two sons of Zebedee and Peter, tarry here and watch with me, Jesus went a little farther and prayed, if this can be possible let this cup pass with me, when He came back the men were asleep.
The summary of this to me would be “do not sleep, pray and keep alert, Satan is near. Pray and be ready to forgive your fellow man.”
Sunday service, prayer requests were asked for James Brown, Eldon, Lorene M., Pastor and family, Norma J., Marvin G. and Tabitha.
The morning message was in Mark 10:35, my thoughts on this is not asking what Jesus can do for us, but Jesus, what can I do for you? I wonder how many so-called Christians are even close to what Jesus has in his mind? Think about this, is your mind Christ-like?
Sunday evening was Popcorn preaching. Each speaker had ten minutes.
Chad E. – Psalms 139:23-24, Search me, God, and know my heart.
Ty me and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me. Be very careful if you pray this, God just may show you a few things.
Trevis T. – Trevis said, “if I only have ten minutes, I need to get into this suddenly.” John 11:25-26, Jesus is the resurrection and the life, believe on this, there is no remission of sins without the blood of Jesus applied to your life. Search me O Lord.
Steve – Matthew 15:8, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Where is your heart? Are we for real or just playing church?
Gary – Luke 24:13 Your walk on the Emmaus Road. If you met Jesus on this road, are you walking close enough to hear and recognize his voice?
Verse 16, but, their eyes were holden, (by special divine intervention they cannot recognize Jesus,) that they should not know him. Be in tune with the Holy Spirit, read and pray, know the still small voice!
Michael – II Timothy 2:15 – do we study our Bible to show ourselves approved? Do we need to be ashamed of our lack of knowledge of the scripture? Do we know what the word says? When we come home from Sunday evening service when is the next time we pick up God’s word and read?
