Wright County Children’s Home Has Spring Fever

It may be too soon to say that “Spring has sprung”, but the recent sunny skies and warm temperatures have reminded the Wright County Children’s Home that warmer weather is right around the corner – and the great recreational opportunities that come along with it.

Recreation is a huge part of the program at WCCH.  The staff members strive to provide daily opportunities for active recreation for the children.  The Children’s Home campus features a half-court basketball court, a large playground, a volleyball net, and a lot of open space for playing.  However, they also take the children on occasional off-campus outings.

The swimming pool is always a favorite destination, as well as the various parks that decorate our local towns.  Last year, the children were treated to trips to Silver Dollar City in Branson and to see the Springfield Cardinals play.  It is amazing how many recreational opportunities become available when the days lengthen and the temperatures go up.  If you know of a great idea for recreational activities for the kids at the Wright County Children’s Home, please contact them.  They are always open for ideas!  On that same note, they are always looking for people to give financial gifts designated specifically toward the children’s recreational outings.

Wright County Children’s Home is a private 501(c)3 organization located in Norwood, MO, which provides emergency residential care for children ages 6-18 from all around the state of Missouri.  For more information, please call 417-746-1420.  You can also check them out on Facebook or on the Web at http://wcch.net.
