Dogwood – The Higher Calling

Dear reader, if you are new to this column and have an inner hunger for something more but have not been satisfied with stuff or money, I would like to invite you to walk along with other readers in a personal relationship with God, for if you have stuff and money but are not satisfied, your hunger is not material, it is spiritual.  The things and money are good for their purpose, but they cannot do what only God can do.  God loves you more than you can imagine, God promises to never leave you, and God has everything you need for every situation in life.  As always, the choice is up to you.

In the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, (Philippians Ch. 3) we forget those things of the past that the devil uses to condemn us, knowing that Jesus has paid the price for our sin in full, forever. (Hebrews 10)  And, we reach forward toward the relationship with God- for the fellowship that we long for with God the Father, through God the son (Jesus), by God the Holy Spirit.  The Bible calls these three the Godhead (Romans 1:20)

In this column, The High Calling, we learn what the Bible teaches and learn to walk with God by the spirit because the Bible says God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and you have a spirit (1 Thessalonians 5).   Are you longing for fellowship with God?

The way you fill the empty place in your spirit is by allowing God to enter your heart.  You can’t have God without first going through Jesus by faith – because the good news is – Jesus died for your sin so you could enter into relationship with God.

God wants you to talk with him.  The Bible calls talking with God prayer.  This is an example of a faith filled response to God’s invitation, “God, I believe that Jesus died for me.  I ask you to come into my heart and fill me with your Spirit”.

If you believe God, it is that simple.  If you said that prayer, you have begun your walk with God, and that is just the beginning.  Tell someone that you have accepted Jesus into your heart.  Start reading the Bible and talk with God, he hears you and loves you.  The book of John is a good place to start.  It is in the New Testament.

As you walk with God and grow to know Jesus personally, through the Bible, talking with him, and through his Holy Spirit, you will find that your inner hunger is being satisfied.  It feels like an inner hunger because it is spiritual, and only God can satisfy your spiritual hunger.  The choice is up to you.  God is waiting for you to respond.

Until next time, God bless you and your loved ones.
