The Douglas County Commission met in regular session last Thursday morning at the courthouse. Business items included signing court orders for the tax book and requisitions for the assessor and the janitor, as well as answering several calls pertaining to roads.
District 1 Commissioner Richard Mitchell made a list of vehicles from the road shed that are going to be sold for salvage. The vehicles will be submitted for bid.
In other business, the commissioners agreed to buy a dump truck from Pellham Trucking.
The commissioners also signed a letter to appoint Sandra Pueppke, RN, as health officer for Douglas County for one year beginning Feb. 9, 2012, through Feb. 9, 2013. Pueppke is administrator/director of the Douglas County Health Department.
It was also agreed that the commissioners would not meet this past Monday, Feb. 13, which was observed as Lincoln’s Birthday, a county holiday.
Present for the meeting were Mitchell, District 2 Commissioner Danny Dry, Presiding Commissioner Larry Pueppke, and County Clerk Karry Davis.
