CITY WATER UPDATE

Sep 11, 2008

As the Herald goes to press, City of Ava reports five water tests performed by DNR on Wednesday, Sept. 3, show city water to be clean and absent of bacteria. City officials want residents to know that all the subsequent test samples verify a clean report.

Officials regret no one can say for sure if the negative test results were an indication of a problem with the system or the result of a sampling mistake. Nonetheless, city administrators took action by flushing the system and checking water storage tanks.

For those residents who are concerned, water testing kits may be purchased at the health department for $10; or, additional questions may be directed to Southwest Regional Office of DNR at 417-891-4300, or Public Drinking Water Branch, 573-751-5331.
